Springs of delight

Swimming at hot spring yesterday, and on the walk home again met the charming young Siwan woman and several of her sisters. On a future walk there I hope to spend some more time with them, but need more Arabic first so we can try more of a conversation.

Previous day walked to Aghurmi and Temple of the Oracle, and the other nearby temple which was blown up by a previous governor of the oasis. These sites have added resonance after reading Sunset Oasis; how lucky I am to be here now, and not a hundred years or so ago when, as a foreign woman, I would not have been able to walk freely around the oasis, and would certainly not have been able to swim in the springs.
