tourist strangeness part 2

In the last post I showed you some of the things tourists take home from Egypt. In addition to seeing the sites and sights that bring most people here, from antiquities to the awesome deserts and delights of the Red Sea, there is entertainment.

Some of this has a specifically Egyptian flavor, such as folk dance performances, but some is as Westernized as you can get, the dance parties of Sharm or nightclubbing in Cairo being not much different to what you would experience anywhere in Europe, the USA, UK or Australia.

Many cafes and restaurants provide entertainment such as dancers to accompany your dining, while a purpose built complex such as Alf Leila Wa Leila (One Thousand and One Nights) produces more extravagant shows.
